Whole point of this was to see what people are using and see the variety that suits the rider conditions etc, who cares where it is, or cares if they are sponsored really or own a shop whatever or just like us reg smo's , get STOKED on riding and stop hating! people.

Peaty = Legend
Gives so much back to the sport..
So you're saying one of the best LBS I've ever come across, I use the for everything, I used to do all my own wrenching as a moto x mech and long time bike mech too that we must be all doing it wrong or user error. Hardly they actually told me not to buy them and they test everything before recommending any brand, on a weekly basis you will see they're own bikes have something new on to compare and advise they're XC/AM/DH customers what works best with what frame and best product for price and performance, I trust them and after going ahead anyway, they were proved correct, maybe there is a tolerance issue or some manufacturing Monday issue.
All brands have had they're fair share execution issues and sometimes the right fit for someone is not the right fit for others, I've heard of horror stories with RF but yet I've ridden RaceFace from Turbines to Deus/Atlas std/Diablous/Atlas FRs hard for well over 15 years and never once had an issue, products rec's are hard sometimes you have to find out the hard way, I stick with what works for me these days rather than going over the fence, everything time I've gone to see if the grass is greener it backfires on me haha.
hence why I only use e13 chain ring on all my bikes, trail to DH single ring only. Wish they only still made the Ali stem regret selling mine!
Love e13 products, Ali Stem e13 chain rings and SRS+ and LG1+ or race now been great.
Cranks I've not had that experience as others, I've hated them, not as stiff s everyone makes out, mine were noisy and actually had movement on the non drive side from day one, I always thought it was a sloppy bushing in my Straitline flats it drove me crazy, over a couple of months the noise creaking became so unbearable after a 2 week road trip where I swapped pedals out and anything else I thought might be creaking as I was sure the cranks could not be the problem, well they were, I went back to my LBS said take these off put back on my 3 year old RF Atlas FRs and Diablous BB and man so good still light and silent no weird left side issues and totally silent ad smooth too not a new BB by any means either. I have had XO cranks on order for some time I've been so impressed by my old FRs I may even cancel that order. If it works and ant broke why fix something that performs worse for sake of new, RF top end cranks have never disappointed me, I wanted to try something else just to see the other side of the fence, sometimes works sometimes doesn't. Still good luck to them they make sick products but I won't be buying the cranks again.
Cheers..
I must admit the V10 does look hot with the new Fox 40s. Saint cranks, brakes awesome. SAINT RD still not right. Its a freeride RD compromised for DH by the top jockey wheel being so far from cluster. Its fine when new & clean but bit of crap or use its performance drops allot still works. Road 105 or Ultregra for realracers or factory short cage xtr like Gwin ran. SRAM X9 X0dh esp way better drive train. Torn on Boxxer or 2012 40s for my V10c dam haha.
Dust rulz last few weeks is all we get trails so sweet right now, braap got to love Summer down under.
Def sad day but as Peaty says change is the only other thing ya can be sure will happen. Though I still don't like the change myself, but it is what it is, it would be great to know if this was Sram driven, SantaCruz or more $$ offered by Fox Shimano, end of the day we do have a say. We buy these products and whether we admit it or not these riders and teams do influence us.
Saying that I've been running new gen Saint this past 8months and while it started out well and I like some of the benefits, it just reminded me why I have a love hate affair with Shimano the top jockey wheel is too far away from a close ratio cassette to be real effective and will be going back to Sram, I've never had a DH mechanical on Sram and over the last few months nothing but issues on Shimano. currently running an Ultegra road RD, I would go 10spd XO DH, but I know Sram have been working on a proper DH close range cassette and RD so wait to see if this happens soon, 10spd so OTT on a DH bike. the Ultegra also blows away the Saint for performance and speed and crispness of shifting still using Saint shifter though, I know its not new idea but its night and day.
Fox will be cool to see on the V10c the 2012 Kashima is hot, but once a Boxxer is setup right dam its hard to beat, did the shim stack recently and blown away by the forks control, everything still stock except the oil seals removed and use fox 36 foam rings to keep oil from leaking, so smooth in initial stroke, just kills the factory setting.
Good luck to em, both Peaty and Minnar still some of my fav riders even on Fox and Shimano, word is full Shimano too heard this before Xmas, bet they don't run stock Saint either, mix of XTR and Saint like Sram do with X0 I bet, no way would they stay with Saint drive train as stock its so bad, especially once its gets on the Dirt, mind you a mechanic to sort it after every run does help..
Danny Hart WORLD CHAMPION.
Gwin is not a World Champion he is the World Cup Champ
The one race TOO win he did not win.
Gwin had a great year all the same but he cannot be called a world champ yet.
Sam Hill can come back if he wants too no doubt. Last year was not just about injury other issues messed him up too hence silly crashes and injuries and unpreppardness. Like Tiger if he can over come those hurdles watch out I hope he rises to the challenge go Sam. The rest is wide open in 2012 its more mental now all riders have skills to win it will take mental skill which is also about prep.
Good luck to all the racers 2012 could be the best yet pity such a stupid gap between rd 1 & rd 2. UCI sucks still the only thing I can predict for 2012.
Dam it was looking fwd to the Freecaster series, I just hope this is not a way of stuffing up a rival series that potentially could take DH where it should be World Class.
So I hope Red Bull helps grow the sport and increase the number of rounds, the sports needs to go to the next step, not being held back by a lack of visionaries with lycra panties.
I don't mind paying for it if we get that.
I do feel for Freecaster they helped bring DH back through the exposure and proved if you build they will come..
I hope they still go ahead I think they would be successful as long as they are innovative and bring real tracks and better locations than the UCI currently do and also in the window the UCI so badly neglects.
Just do it Raymond Dulieu, don't back down now!!
Hate it I will be adding to my 3 x 5:10s now before the Adidas take over stuffs up a perfectly great unique brand.
Many have tried to copy an copy is great flattery but 5:q0 have flattened em by staying true so sad to see it sell out when its obviously successful.
Ive not bought other shoes for 5years I even buy em for casual wear.
Dam you Corporates lol...
3rd issue..
Circlip to hold it all in place, had this with Atomlab Aircorps similar setup and dam things always fell apart, not good while riding and the body comes off the pedal shaft/axle.
Ya don't circumvent weight for shoddy attachments, AtomLab fixed this with a simple nut and lock setup no more body disappearing under loads.
Works fine when new, but not long after ime. About Us
